Book recommendations that describe accounting careers?

I would like to explore accounting as a possible career option. Can someone recommend several books that describe this career? I am looking for information on specific job duties, salary, and education requirements. I am not looking for books like "Accounting for Dummies" or books that explain how to *do* accounting. Rather, I am only seeking career exploration books. Serious replies only, no ads or MLM. Thank you.

I would start with the Occupational Outlook Handbook to get salary and education requirements, (see sources) After than I would go to the "Related Occupations" section for related jobs and I look at the "Sources of Additional Information" section on the "Accountants and Auditors" page. It has some useful links you should examine.
